Administering Anesthesia

To ensure the comfort and safety of each pet, they will be placed under anesthesia prior to every dog or cat surgery. Our board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist will evaluate your pet’s health and assess their medical history to create an individualized treatment plan and minimize any anesthetic risks.

The veterinary anesthesiologist receives 3-4 years of anesthesia-specific training and is entirely dedicated to overseeing your pet’s health and safety before, during and after their surgery. They administer anesthesia and work closely with our team to ensure your dog or cat remains comfortable throughout the procedure.

Appointment Day

During your appointment, we will work together to develop an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan for your pet. Our hospital is equipped to perform additional testing such as lab work, biopsies, x-rays, CT scans, or MRI. Non-emergent surgeries will be scheduled for a future date.

Surgery Day

The morning of surgery, you will meet with one of our surgery nurses before admitting your pet to the hospital. With the help of our board certified anesthesiologist, we will ensure a safe anesthetic and surgical experience for your pet. We will update you throughout the day on your pet's procedure and recovery.

Discharge from the Hospital

Your pet's discharge date and time will be scheduled based on their recovery from surgery and anesthesia. We will provide you with pain medication and home care instructions for the postoperative period.

Follow-Up Care

Follow-up appointments will be scheduled on an individual basis, depending on your pet's needs.
